Max‘s graduation included a slideshow of pictures of each kid and then the kids walked around the parents once. The song they were supposed to sing with Max playing trumpet they did before the parents got there. Yay Public school.

Max just left for his last day of Lakeridge Elementary with his trumpet and yo-yo in tow. Hope he stays this sweet through middle school.

Today, we drove to Hanover to visit Dartmouth. We started with a lunch that a friend arranged with a PhD student in math and computer science. Then an engineering school tour and a walk around campus. Drove back to Boston for dinner. Tomorrow is our final day!

Today was a very Boston day! We walked the Freedom Trail from Boston Commons through Boston and over to Charlestown. By coincidence it was the 249th anniversary of the battle of Bunker Hill, and a parade honoring it that went right up the street where my freshman roommate lives. So we spent the day at his house, saw the parade, walked up to the monument, and then walked back to Cambridge.

Today we got to the spy museum in DC, full of info and very interactive — great museum! We then flew to Boston, took his first T ride, walked around Harvard (which is now back open, but still under a security lockdown), had his first food at Tatte, and ate dinner at an Afghani restaurant followed by ice cream!

Solid day 3 in DC! Started out at the bureau of engraving and printing where we saw money being made, followed up with the White House tour, and a special insider capital tour from a friend who is a lead on the homeland security committee (we were also on the house floor and sat where the Supreme Court sits during state of the union but weren’t allowed to take pictures), and finally a special dinner at a restaurant Asher researched and picked out (40 layer lasagna of course).

Busy day 2, we didn’t make to the Supreme Court as they only let in 10 people today. But we explored a bit more of the city, museums, see the original constitution, and did a tour of Georgetown!
