Walking to school on the 2nd day and all smiles.

Asher just joined the queen Anne Soccer League and had his 2nd practice today. He has a great team and great coach.

Sometime in August, Asher requested that we go camping this summer . . . we got rained-out on our first attempt last weekend, but this weekend the weather looked great so we went down to Mt. Rainier on Saturday so Asher could enjoy both camping nearby and then his first hike on Mt Rainier proper!  Daddy’s friend Chris joined us.  We saw a marmot, deer, caterpillars and lots of chipmunks, and Asher enjoyed the geology and talking at Mt St Helens and Mt Adams (also in view).

We hiked 4 miles round trip, up 2 miles to about 6350′ elevation (almost to Panorama Point at Paradise).

He loved it, and wants to go back for “three days and three nights” — his most favorite part was s’mores, followed by sleeping in the tent, and then the hike.

We woke up Sunday morning and did a few more smaller waterfall hikes at Asher’s insistence and then came back to Seattle to get ready for Rosh Hashana.
