Naked at the mall, but hey it's summer!
Max’s school update!!
Max has been going to school with Asher for a few months, this is his first written update from Teacher Sarah –
Max urinates in the potty on a regular basis! He always affirms himself with “I did it!” He seems to be building hand strength for dressing and undressing as well. Like Maddie and Isla, he also checks himself if his pull up is dry or wet.
He knows how to use and put away rugs, and when to get tray work. He enjoys tracing his name and is improving every day. Max likes to go to circle, enjoys group games, and follows routine with ease. I have never had trouble with him during transitions or not following the rules. The other kids really enjoy having his silliness around because he makes us all happy.
As mentioned earlier, he is building his hand strength with multiple things, but it will come easier in time. Max has been with us for just a couple months and this is completely normal. He does as many pages as he can (daubing is his favorite).
Max is learning to be patient during directions, but this is most likely because he is very perceptive to what the project is. He catches on quickly and has a lot of fun when doing art. He is quite a minimalist but it is what he likes, and that’s okay.
Max plays really well with everyone in class, but especially likes spending time with Maddie and Arno.

Shabbat in the park
We have finally decided to join a "synagogue"! It is a group in our neighborhood and is the opposite of everything Brian and I grew up with (very West Coast hippy dippy). Last night we had Shabbat in the park with guitarist and kids dancing everywhere. The only picture I took was a game of tag with Brian and the kids on the way out at 8:30pm. So hard to get home and get the kids to bed when it is light until 10:30 and crazy gorgeous everyday. Can't help but enjoy this drought/global warming for now.
