Hi Kara,
Asher had a great time getting to know his new classroom today. He is quite an independent explorer, and was happy to look around the classroom by himself, if I was cleaning up a table or changing Liam’s diaper. He and Liam got along really well, and spent a long time engaged in the same activity. They were sharing balls and crayons without any prompting, and both of them enjoy those two activities a lot, as well. We made pictures with dot markers, and Asher REALLY liked using one in each hand and banging them on the paper. The boys were both banging them at the same time and looking at each other and laughing. We spent at least two hours playing on the playground; Asher spent most of that time driving around in the red car. He also thought it was pretty funny when he was jumping on the bridge, especially when I started jumping with him. We also spent time today reading books and building towers, both Liam and Asher were very intent on concentrating while building. We were building with thick tiles, and Asher could stack them really high! In the afternoon, I made some trays with seashells, buttons, fuzzy balls, and rhinestones, and gave the kids (safe) tweezers and containers, so they could try to fill the containers, and Asher liked that a lot. He was really fascinated with the tweezers and all the different containers, and spent awhile putting something in each container and then switching them around. He was a big help cleaning up, and seems to like neatening things up – he took the time to balance each dot marker on its end, when he was finished using them.
Let me know if you’d like me to add Brian to these emails, as well! Thanks.
Looking forward to seeing you and Asher next Tuesday!
SARAH
